Feedback needed: Train the Trainer event focusing on Farm Planning for Climate Resilience

by Jeremy Baker

Later on this year, Oregon agricultural professionals throughout the state are invited to attend a Train the Trainer event focusing on Farm Planning for Climate Resilience.

The goal is to provide training for Oregon agricultural professionals to advance knowledge of farm-based solutions for climate resilience that reduce vulnerability to extreme weather events, increase efficiency, store more carbon in the soil and ultimately improve the farmer’s bottom-line. We are also interested in providing training on best strategies for communication with producers on climate resilience.

An interdisciplinary group of organizers is developing this training led by Oregon Climate Action Network (OrCAN) that includes: Amy Garrett- OSU Extension; Hannah Gosnell – OSU Extension; Joe Kline – NRCS; Cory Owens – NRCS; Maud Powell – OSU Extension; Holly Prendeville – USDA NW Climate Hub; Marie Vicksta- Yamhill SWCD.

We’ve pulled together this short survey to inform the development of this training. It should take about 10 minutes–please submit the survey by 04/05.

This work is funded by the Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Oregon Professional Development Program (WSARE PDP).
