OCEAN New Employee Handbook

OCEAN New Employee Handbook

Over the past year, OCEAN has been developing a handbook for new employees that helps acclimate them to the unique role that conservation districts play within the conservation and natural resources community.

The handbook provides an overview of statewide district programs and their purposes as units of local government, explains that each district has a unique natural resource base with a distinct set of local challenges and opportunities, and discusses the importance of partnerships, listing some of the most common partners of SWCDs.

Each district in Oregon was provided a printed copy at either CONNECT 2016 or in the mail, and we have also made it available for download here on our Resources for Districts page.

We are excited to present this document and hope that districts will find it useful to help employees find their footing within your organizations.
